Our new Foundation Stage Unit comprises of the Nursery and Reception years and is very well led by Mrs Corrigan the foundation stage co-ordinator.

All are delighted with the addition over the Summer of an outside classroom in the play area allowing shade in the sunshine and shelter from the rain.

The staff are also delighted with the recent self-review by Hampshire County Council which resulted in an 'outstanding' outcome in all areas.

In our Nursery department, which caters for girls from 2¾ we aim to provide a happy and safe environment which allows our pupils to feel secure and confident and to learn through enjoyment.

To ensure that all our girls are given the opportunity to develop to their full potential, we have a structured learning programme with activities including:-

• Language

• Number Work

• Music

• Physical Activities

• Computer Work

• Craft Activities

• French
The Nursery girls follow a timetable, but all their work is relative to the concentration span of the individual child, with each girl’s progress being carefully monitored by our qualified staff.

Parents are welcome at anytime and are encouraged to be a part of their child’s learning.

The Nursery department is open from 8.30am - 3.30pm each day during term time, with parents having the flexibility to choose how many sessions their daughter attends. Milk, lunch and after School care up to 6.00pm may be provided for an additional small fee.

The girls then move from the Nursery into our Reception class where again they follow a structured learning programme.

All the girls in the Foundation Stage share a delightful enclosed play area.

Official Opening of the new Foundation Play Area

On Thursday 2nd October we had the official opening of the new Foundation Stage Play Area.

The School is thrilled to have been able to install such a superb facility for our youngest girls. This has been possible because of some wonderful fundraising by our Parents’ Association, WHISPA, and two generous donations; one from The William Price Educational Trust and the other from Richmond Cars Hyundai.

The youngest girls in the school entertained us with their poems, songs and paintings about the new Play Area. The ribbon was then cut, the photographs taken and the area officially declared open by Mrs Smith of WHISPA. We then enjoyed a sumptuous celebratory cake made by Mrs Lea and decorated with the winning design from our cake competition.

We hope girls will enjoy the new Play Area in our Foundation Stage Unit for many years to come and thank everyone who has given so generously towards the cost of its installation.
