Most of our mathematical activities are related to practical experoences. By using a wide range of materials andresources, we aim to develop each girl’s use of mathematical language and also her ability to understand and solve practical problems positively.

For example:

  • Making sets using everyday resources
  • Filling Jars with objects
  • Use of nursery ryhmes to reinforce counting
  • Recognising and naming common shapes.

Girls learn the count from 1-10 and learn the value of numbers 0-5. Mathematical activities are often linked closely to the term's topic. For instance, a topic on growing could lead to activities involving measuring height, counting seeds to plant or sharing out plant pots equally in a group.
